HI, I’M CAITI
I like pretty things, and I want to put them in your house.
After almost 20 years living in Chicago, NYC, and LA, I recently returned to my Wisconsin roots and settled on the near east side of Madison. My first career was in the music industry as a marketing director at major record labels and as an artist manager, but my true love has always been in residential design and styling. I’ve been blessed to have traveled all over the world, and those experiences have shaped my appreciation for beautiful and functional pieces from all styles, cultures, and eras.
I’ve always loved designing my abodes, and helping my friends design theirs. It’s cheesy but true: every time I walk into my bedroom, I smile because it’s exactly the way I want it. It’s calm and beautiful, and I love the feeling of being surrounded by my favorite things. That is the reason I love to design, and it’s my goal with every client I have to make them feel the same way. My past experience in the music industry taught me how to collaborate with very artistic people, and also to come up with ideas for some that needed a little help shaping their world. I carry that collaborative spirit with me into this career too.
Let’s make a lovely space together.

the facelift
We all need a refresh once in a while. Whether you just moved in, you’re sick of your old stuff, or you finally got that divorce (congrats!), we can work together to update your style. Get ready to toss all that IKEA crap and fall in love with unique furniture, textiles, and decor that will bring your personality into your home. Together, let’s find pieces that speak to who you are, what you need, and where you want to be. Life’s too short to inhabit anything but an absolute sanctuary.
remodeling
For remodeling or new build projects that involve cabinetry, countertops, flooring, tile, kitchen/bath/bar plumbing and fixtures, structural work, electrical tinkering, and more, I am available to design your space through Bella Domicile, a trusted kitchen and bath design firm in Madison, WI. At Bella, I use CAD software to make new floor plans, elevations, and beautiful 3D renderings that any contractor in our network can make into a reality.

Apartment therapy
Over my ten+ years in New York City, I lived in a handful of small apartments. Because I was renting, there were limits to the things I could change, but I always managed to create my own little oasis in the chaos of the city. I became an expert at adding lighting solutions without getting into the wiring in the walls, making the most out of every inch of space in both function and style, and turning an empty white box into a home.
If you’re living the noncommittal life (in this economy, I get it), and your apartment could use a new vibe, I can help you source furniture, textiles, lighting, decor, and storage solutions that will make your rented space feel like it’s your own, without pissing off your landlord.
get in loser, we’re going shopping
Picking out new stuff can be overwhelming. If you’re just looking for a couple new things and want to buy local, let’s hit the shops. I’m game for antique stores, flea markets, local furniture and decor stores, or anything else you can’t find solely on the internet. Sifting through piles of treasures to find that one perfect, special piece that speaks to you will give you a bigger seratonin hit than your antidepressants.
HOW I WORK
THE PROCESS
DECOR
If you’re looking for furniture, textiles, lighting, and/or decor, and need help putting it all together, I am available for an hourly fee that will depend on the scope of the project. I’m fair, I promise.
Before we get into working together, I like to have an intro Zoom call to see if we are a good fit. I’d love learn a little bit about you, what you’re looking for, and get a rough investment budget. You can ask me any questions you have, and we can go through what the process will look like.
If you’d like to move forward working together, I require a retainer deposit of $150 before I start digging in. The deposit is nonrefundable, but it will be deducted from your final fee.
All items will be paid for by you up front.
My hourly fee includes:
An initial aesthetics meeting in which we discuss what design direction to head in for your space. You’ll need to bring a moodboard, Pinterest board, or just some images of things you like and/or don’t like. We’ll go through exactly what items you’re looking for, how much you’re looking to spend, and all kinds of finishes, textures, patterns, and other materials to find what suits your taste.
A measurement of your space so we know what will fit.
Any time hunting for items for your space, whether online or in person. I will give you an estimation of the time it will take for your project before we start.
IRL shopping trips, including travel time. I have a handful of favorite stores in Madison that I’d love to peruse with you. We can stay local, or in certain circumstances I may be willing to venture to Milwaukee, Chicago, or antique stores outside of the city. I am only available after 5pm on weekdays and (most) weekends for shopping trips.
Time spent creating moodboards, budgets, floor plans, sketches, presentations, or other admin related to your project.
Arranging your glorious new things in your space. This is the fun part! We’ll work together to make your home a cozy retreat with your own personal touch. Note: You are responsible for getting pieces of furniture into your home. If we’re rearranging heavy objects, have a strong friend around to lift :)
